Religious and Special Celebrations at the Basilica

Mass celebrations timetable

The Basilica of the Pantheon has been a church consecrated to Catholic worship since 13 May 609 and since that day it has been used continuously for the praise of God, the personal and public prayer of the faithful, the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist, the sanctification of the Christian people through the sacraments.

Special celebrations and religious events in the Basilica

The celebrations of the pre-holiday and holiday Masses take place as per the calendar: Saturday and pre-holidays at 17.00; Sundays and public holidays at 10.30.

ACCESS TO LITURGICAL FUNCTIONS AND RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES, during which tourist visits of any kind are not permitted, ALWAYS REMAINS FREE AND FREE.

CALENDAR OF THE MAIN CELEBRATIONS AND RELIGIOUS EVENTS

 

  • Wednesday 1 November 2023 at 10.30 am: Holy Chapter Mass of the Solemnity of All Saints presided over by the Provost, His Excellency Monsignor Santo Marcianò, Military Ordinary Archbishop for Italy. li>
  • Thursday 2 November 2023 at 4.00 pm: Concert of the Saints of the Choir of the Perinsigne Basilica of S. Maria ad Martyres – Pantheon directed by Maestro Don Michele Faustino Loda. Antonio Salieri’s Requiem in C minor will be performed. This will be followed by the inauguration of the photographic exhibition (2-12 November 2023) on mental disability “Acciaio fragili” curated by Patrizia Brero with images by Antonella Di Girolamo.
  • Thursday 2 November 2023 at 5.00 pm: Holy Mass for the Commemoration of all the Deceased presided over by the Penitentiary Canon.
  • Saturday 4 November 2023 at 9.00 pm: Concert of the XXII International Festival of Sacred Music and Art. Ensemble “Guillou Consort” directed by Maestro Prof. Valentino Miserachs Grau. Maestro Paradell Solé on the organ.
  • Sunday 8 December 2023 at 10.30: Holy Chapter Mass of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception with the awarding of the Pantheon Medal of Merit to the Fire Brigade of Rome.
  • Birth of the Lord: Holy Chapter Mass on Christmas Eve on 24 December 2023 at 11.55 pm. It animates the Basilica Choir.
  • The Basilica will be closed on Monday 25 December 2023.
  • Sunday 31 December 2023 at 10.30 am: Holy Chapter Mass of the Solemnity of the Holy Family.
  • Sunday 31 December 2023 at 5.00 pm: Holy Mass of the Solemnity of Mary Mother of God and solemn “Te Deum” of thanksgiving.
  • Monday 1 January 2024 the Basilica will remain closed.
  • Saturday 6 January 2024 5.00 pm: Holy Mass of the Solemnity of the Epiphany of the Lord.
  • Sunday 7 January 2024 at 10.30 am: Holy Mass of the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord.
  • Sunday 21 January 2024 at 10.30: Holy Mass with Enthronement of the Word of God on the CXLV Anniversary of the foundation of the Institute for the Guard of Honor at the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon. strong> li>
